Project description

Goal: Use oral history to increase self-esteem, respect for family and peers, and reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills for high school Native Language students.

Story Collecting:

• 8-session curriculum package with handouts, tied to Common Core standards and Native Languages class requirements
• Project design, management and facilitation
• Teacher development and ongoing support
• Interviews with family and community members

Story Sharing:

• • Published book of students’ stories
  • Book release event for students, parents and community members
